BigTime Elevated to QuickBooks Gold.

BigTime becomes one of the first software packages for Professional Services firms to earn Gold-level status in the QuickBooks Solutions Marketplace.

CHICAGO. October, 2006. Edison's Attic, makers of the popular BigTime PSA solution, announced today that it had earned Gold Developer status from Intuit's solutions provider program.

BigTime is one of only a handful of bolt-on applications to pass the technical certification exams and to provide strong enough customer references to qualify for Gold status. "We're excited about this new status," says Brian Saunders, Edison's CEO. "For us, it signals Intuit's willingness to strengthen their ties with their most successful add-on services and software. It's a quick way for customers to see which applications have gotten traction in the marketplace, and we're happy to be a leader in this arena."

BigTime Makes QuickBooks Work Harder for Professional Services Firms
Gold Developer status gives BigTime's support and development team greater access to resources and people at Intuit. Gold developers get access to a range of resources from Intuit, ranging from exclusive conferences with Intuit staff to early-access to upcoming software releases.

Maureen Black is a product support specialist with Edison's Attic, and she's on the front-lines in the effort to help customers get the two systems working together. "When we get support calls," says Black, "customers don't care if their questions are resolved in BigTime or in QuickBooks, they're just looking for a solution. The fact that Gold Developers have access to business and support resources that are unique makes it easier for us to get questions and problems resolved quickly."

With the advent of programs like Intuit's, the traditional lines between a software firm's core offerings and the add-on services that make it useful for specific industries and niches are beginning to blur. Making it possible for Intuit to take advantage of industry-specific knowledge without forcing them to acquire it or even incorporate it into their own brand.

"We think it sets a standard that we're hoping other accounting systems will try to match," adds Saunders. BigTime can feed data to and from QuickBooks, PeachTree, Microsoft Small Business Accounting and other accounting systems. "It benefits the customer, in the end, and Intuit has done an excellent job zeroing in on products that will enhance their brand. Of course," he adds, "I may be a little biased."
