Edison’s Attic places a strong emphasis on respecting and protecting the privacy of our customers. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when using our Web site and software, so we’ve outlined following principles that govern our privacy policies online and in our software. Throughout this policy, we refer to Edison’s Attic as “the Company,” and to information that personally identifies you as "personal information".

WE PROTECT YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION

Any personal information we collect is protected from loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration by using industry-recognized security safeguards. We protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information by using industry-recognized security safeguards such as firewalls, coupled with carefully developed security procedures to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration. Whenever we ask for sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, we encrypt it as it is transmitted to us using SSL Encryption.

WE TELL YOU HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

When we ask you for information, we’ll tell you how that information will be used. If you order a product or register for a service from us, we will ask you for your name and contact information such as mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address.

When you purchase software/services, we collect contact information from you as well (e.g. - credit card information to process any payments you wish to make over our web site), but none of this information is used by outside marketing firms.

WE DISCLOSE OUR RELATIONSHIP TO THIRD PARTIES

We have limited relationships with third parties to assist us in servicing you, for example, by providing a local consultant or developer who is familiar with our line of products. These service providers are contractually required to maintain the confidentiality of the information we provide them. We clearly identify partner services and sites. When you request any of these products or services, you are permitting us to provide your personal information to the partner to fulfill your request.

We may disclose your information if we are required to by a law enforcement action such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant.

VeriSIGN Inc.
We use VERISIGN (a third party credit card merchant service) to process credit card payments. At no time is your credit card information stored on our site, and we maintain only a transaction code (provided by verisign as an electronic receipt from credit card authorizations).

Citrix Online
Our LIVE Support service is provided by Citrix Online (we ask you for a name when you request live support, but only to make the service more personal for you). Like all other service providers that we use (e.g. - shipping companies to fulfill customer orders) they will not use your information for any reason other than what we have contracted them to do.

Business Transitions
In the event Edison’s Attic, Inc. goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personally identifiable information will likely be among the assets transferred. You will be notified by a prominent notice on our Web site for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

WE TELL YOU HOW WE USE WEB TECHNOLOGIES

Like many Web sites, we use technology, such as cookies, that allow us to make your visit to our Web site easier by recognizing you when you return and help to provide you with a customized experience. These cookies do collect personal information, however they never transmit this information to third parties and no third parties will place cookies on your system when you visit our web site. In addition, page useage data is anonymous (we don’t link it back to your PII).

WE GIVE YOU CHOICE, AND WE GIVE YOU CONTROL

Registered customers may receive email updates, and registered guests may receive email queries or follow up calls. However, if you don't want us to contact you for promotional purposes, you can tell us when you provide the information. You can also opt out of any email communications we send by clicking the OPT OUT link at the bottom of the communication. Your contact preferences only apply to marketing contact. We may need to communicate with you regarding the usability of your product or critical messages relating to your service or software (such as service messages, subscription renewal notices, critical notices, or legally mandated notices). TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build user’s trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices.
