Information Protection, BIGTIME
When you install/use the BigTime product, we secure your company’s information inside an industry-standard SQL Server installation. The SQL login and password information can be controlled by you, and user password (as well as other sensitive employee data) is also stored in the system in encrypted format to prevent IT personnel from gaining access to it.Automatic Product Update
Edison’s Attic releases periodic updates to the system that all of our active customers can download and use. Those updates might include new features, minor repairs, or timely information relevant to your business. Our Automatic Update features connect only to the Company’s servers when you are already connected to the Internet. And, you always have the option of turning off this feature. Periodic updates are controlled from the BigTime Monitor, and involve a once/day XML-based query that pulls the current version of your BigTime files from your system and forwards that information to www.EdisonsAttic.com for review. We also record your company ID to verify that you have an active support contract with the Company and are authorized to install updates.
The Automatic Update feature is only used to update your software and some services to which you have subscribed. During an update, the Company downloads only the files necessary to provide the update. We may also verify non-identifying information from your BigTime installation to aid in the update process (e.g. - your system settings or configuration options, database or table size, etc.).
